E93: Affordable Krytox

Fancy a 20g (.7oz) syringe of Krytox for $10 shipped?

Finally I applied to my E93's seals and it's gone on great.

Is it really repackaged Krytox? Well Finish Line's website says "DuPont's most advanced grease", Google that phrase and guess where you end up? Just like Krytox it's from Dupont, fluorinated, PFPEA based and contains teflon but costs $10

These are the product pages

Krytox:

Finish Line:

I have some on order to compare. It "looks" the same, but from actually using the real stuff, there won't be a trace of it on the seals. The real test will be if dust/dirt is attracted to the seals after application, which wouldn't be good. I wound up using some on the area where the door panel meets the sheet metal to squash a creak, from the 3 years I had the Z4, the creak never returned, amazing stuff for plastic on (whatever).

Bought the gummi plfege from Amazon and it works great. The dealer use Wurth brand and they won't sell it over counter.

It's not the same type of substance, and the new "gummi" is not like the old "gummi", which was removed from the market. Krytox 105 and the 205 is very much like the original gummi, but doesn't kill people

Let me know if it's not the same and I'll update the original post

Some I applied to one seal on Wednesday evening has not attracted dirt yet. It's hard to tell it's on there other than the rubber looking darker than normal.

It should arrive today and I plan on doing the trunk seal on the E90 with it so see how it applies. I also have a seat creak that is in need for some krytox grease so I'll try it on plastic vs plastic as well.

I bought some off of Amazon before. It looks like this (http://www.amazon.com/CRL-GPL205-Kry...dp/B000MR0KHO/).

It was $20 when I bought it, I think. Stuff does not attract any kind of dust or dirt and it seems one application stops squeaks for about 6 months and up. Bought this in 2009 for the car and still have a lot left. A little goes a long way and it stores really well in the syringe. I'd buy it again even at $36, as it works well and you need so little of it.
