Awd and dsc malfunction

AWD and DSC malfunction has appeared on the idrive screen. The battery symbol has now just appeared as well? This ultimate machine is only 4 years old and has just come out of warranty in July last. Most batteries in a new vehicle last 8 to 10 years! Comments anyone please..

Classic signs of a low battery. Take the car for a long run to help recharge, but be prepared to replace at 4 years... I switched to an AGM
I recommend a battery tender, if you don't already have one.

Dear Repoman75, thanks for the response.

Yes your experience sounds interesting as well; however, I just got off the phone will the local dealer service dept. It does sound like a tired battery.
It's going in tomorrow AM for a battery replacement. I hope this pacifies the machine for a while..................bm

BMW's destroy batteries if not driven long enough between starts. years out of a BMW battery is really good.

Thanks MRV99

That does make sense, however it is going into the dealer in the morning for a new battery. I guess I'll just have to drive it more to keep the battery healthy...............bm

Or get a battery tender for periods of inactivity or times of numerous short trips...I've used one for the past five years...Deltran is the brand I'm using

Thanks Mac; I might just entertain that recommendation of a "battery tender". Sounds like a practical fix. ...........bm

I have a 12 X5 50 which has had 2 batteries and a tis update to shut down more of the car. I finally have up and purchased a battery tender. I put my M3 and x5 on the tender over night atleast once a week. If the battery is really low, it will not fully charge to storage mode. If it had a good charge, it usually hits storage mode(maintain constant charge) after about 8 hours. I purchased a BMW because I know it will work and BMW gave me deep discount because it is cheaper than a battery.

Thanks MRV99;
I keep hearing a lot of good things about the "battery tender"; this may very well be the way to go! Thanks again. .................bm
