Rear dash camera causing interference with comfort access

I own a 2016 X3 35i M. I have had a dashcam installed on the front windshield for a while and it works fine.

I recently came into possession of a second dashcam, and decided to mount the second dashcam on the rear hatch window, near the top of the window centered. Once I did this, the comfort access features stopped working, e.g., I could not open the car remotely using the key fob, could not open the car by placing my hand on the door handle, could not start/stop the car unless I held the key up next to the designated area on the steering wheel column, etc.

I removed the rear dashcam and all of the comfort access features started working again, so I can say with a high level of confidence that the problems was caused by the dashcam mounted on the rear window. I am presuming it was generating some type of interference that blocked the car's ability to sense the key fob. Furthermore, it must be location based, as I have used this same dashcam in the front window, and experienced no problems.

I thought the wires embedded in the rear window were for the radio, but now I suspect that they are for comfort access. I have searched the web but have not found anyone else experience any problems like I have. The only dashcam problems that seem to be discussed deal with the camera draining the car battery, resulting in a variety of weird behaviors with the car. However, in my case, the problem was definitely not battery related.

Has anyone heard about or experienced anything similar? When I have some free time, I may try mounting the dashcam somewhere else on the rear window to see if that results in a different behavior.

Any suggestions/insights appreciated.

This may help you to pick a better location. Look at #07, F25 Communication and Entertainment. I don't know if anything changed with the LCI, but this is what the original antenna layout was.
