Some one PLEASE tell me the location of the EHC MODULE 04 X5 4.8IS.
Does anyone have an idea where exactly is the Electronic Height Control module is located? Its the module that controls the air suspension? Some one please help me out with this.
Thank you so much. |

Go to realoem.com
Look it up. I'd have done the link, but you should become familiar with the site- VERY useful! |

Huh, I found it there, and based on where they show it and how it works, I think I could find them. There is a switch, relay and pump control module...
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...05&hg=33&fg=50 I'd look behind the rear quarter panels or under the rear floor... I suspect the module would be near that rear relay carrier. Is this a curiosity, or has yours failed? Have you nailed down exactly what is bad, or is this a generic EHC failure code? |

But thanks for your help. Yes, mine has failed, i need to replace it, but i think it got wet, and i am going to play with it and clean it out before i spend 800 on it.Quote:

The EHC module is under the spare tire in the rear of your vehicle. I had water get in to the back of my X-5 4.4i and the sensor is blown. I will be attempting to replace with parts and hope to have pictures and a 'how-to' up within the week.

Did you happen to confirm it was the sensor?
And exactly which?
My car battery went dead after I didn't use it for 9 days. After I recharged battery, air suspension jacked to maximum height and wouldn't come down---car bounced you with every bump in the road, even the slightest rise. Weirder, the next morning, about 90 minutes after I used the car, a loud bang shook the house. Looked outside and saw left side of vehicle now sagging as low as it could go in the back. Must have blown my air shock (replaced the right one a few months ago, but that left one at least 80,000 miles old). Am trying to sleuth this best I can. Suspecting control module--and yes, did find some water/dampness in spare tire well. Currently drying it out. If you did find specific reason and wouldn't mind sharing, would love to hear what you found out with your situation. Happy Motoring, in any event!
