2003 x5 drivers seat and steering wheel will not adjust

does anyone have anyfeedback on what i can do to fix this? Thanks in advance!!!

Is the seat trim very loose?? If so alot of times the trim that hold the controls cracks. and the controls become unplugged. Most of the time changing the trim with a new one solves your problem, or a zip tie to hold the controls in place if the trim is still good. very common on the e39, and the e53 has the same seats.
