By the way, here is what my delivery looked like when I got home. I left the dealer with sun and it poured rain the rest of the way. Seems like it's either been raining or snowing ever since! But, the plat grey is a great color and I'm sure the space grey is also. Curious, I don't even know if I've seen one around. If anyone has a space grey next to a plat grey it would be nice to see the difference.

Very nice and I hope Oyster holds up well for you. I posted earlier that I switched at the last minute to black with Platinum Grey and love it. I cam from a black with saddle and really liked the contrast and I'm a sucker for black cars which is why I went with platinum. Couldn't have the same color on pretty much the same vehicle, LCI change from 2010 and my 2013. I am also suffering from salted roads. I love the look of the 20" grey wheels with the darker platinum.

Great looking ride, enjoy!

I had the same issue on the way home from the dealer, it rained and later that night we had heavy sleet that pounded on my NEW car, man it sucked hearing it beat on the car driving home on the highway. A guy at work has a 2011 space grey 50i so I will park next to him for a photo op of two grey 50s.

Its funny, I have no problem keeping my interior clean but not the exterior.

How has the Oyster done when it comes to dirt etc?
I also debated between Plat and Space.. I ended up with Space Grey because it does hide dust, dirt, or whatever crap lot easier and less maintenance with this color.

My recent previous cars was 2007 525i metallic black which was amazing when clean but looked like crap when there was a lot of dust or lots of road salt from after a snow storm.
On a nice sunny day the swirl marks was appalling as well.

The car before the X was a 2010 535i in metallic Deep Sea Blue which suffered the equally the same as the black paint..

I feel that the "darker" plat grey would be the same.. and also the fact that in certain angles it changes color slightly to greenish hue was a turn off.

I've had my Space Grey X5 since April of last year and it just looks clean every day
