I also debated between Plat and Space.. I ended up with Space Grey because it does hide dust, dirt, or whatever crap lot easier and less maintenance with this color.

How has the Oyster done when it comes to dirt etc?
My recent previous cars was 2007 525i metallic black which was amazing when clean but looked like crap when there was a lot of dust or lots of road salt from after a snow storm.
On a nice sunny day the swirl marks was appalling as well.
The car before the X was a 2010 535i in metallic Deep Sea Blue which suffered the equally the same as the black paint..
I feel that the "darker" plat grey would be the same.. and also the fact that in certain angles it changes color slightly to greenish hue was a turn off.
I've had my Space Grey X5 since April of last year and it just looks clean every day
