My 6 took 2 hits this weekend, say goodbye to my girlfriend!

I picked my girl up at her apartment building. It was early, around 5:30 AM, so I caught her just in time before she left for coffee. I told her to park, we'll take my car. So she parks, and I pull up behind her. Now keep in mind she could careless how she parks and has the dents and dings in her doors to prove it. Crooked, super close to other cars, I even caught her parked up on the curb once, basically she doesn't care!

So I pull up behind her and all of sudden, and the one time she decides to fix her parking job, she backs right into my 6! She hit my front end, passenger side. Shook the car and sounded bad, boom you know. Then she's sitting there for I swear like 2 minutes, like duh what happened, and telling me to pull away or reverse out of it. I'm like babe, just pull forward to minimize the damage, if I try to pull away it will only make things worse. So she finally pulls forward. Poor thing, I think she was afraid I'd be mad, but I never get mad at her, ever. Especially not over something stupid like an accident.

So I get out, just one barely visible scratch in the wheel well. I guess she hit the tire, which was so lucky. No harm done, worst part of it was she kept saying sorry. Like doll, it's just a car, freaking almost 8 years old now, stop saying sorry, nothing happened!

So a little later, we're sitting in the car drinking coffee and she has a cigarette. And boom again, she catches the roofliner and burns a hole and drops the cherry who knows where! She's like OMG sorry again. I'm like, that's it you're quitting smoking! But I didn't get mad over that either, just was like the WTH is with you today!

The burn hole isn't that bad, but it's noticeable. I can't stand freaking burn holes, they look so trashy.

Quick fix from Pepboys. Want some opinions on it. Check the attached pic. Does it look good? Like it belongs? I mean, if you didn't know the car, would you think it's OEM and supposed to be there? Kind of looks like an M symbol, right?

But long story short, I told her she's moving in with me. No way I'm driving out to Brooklyn to pick her up again after all that! And going ring shopping tomorrow, going to propose next week.

So say goodbye to my girlfriend, hello to my wife!

Sorry to hear about your car, but like you said it can be fixed.

HUGE congratulations on the upcomming engagment! It really sounds like you guys will make a great couple! I got married back in September, and engaged the year before, and couldn't be more happy.

Sounds like you found the one. If you can keep your cool after all that you two have something right.

Very funny story!

Cigarette smoking in any of my cars is a reason to be permanently banned from the vehicle.

And crashing into my 6 is punishable by... and or.... no matter who it is...

Congrats, I am sure she will say YES!

The only thing wrong with the repair, is it is off center. You need a bigger badge, or move the current one over some. I think I would ban her from the 6!

Congrats!

Loooolll I didn't look at the picture untill I read Herb's reply. Oh man, I'm sorry but it does not look OEM. I wouldn't worry about it though. Just don't let anyone smoke in your car. I learned my lesson a few years back, but the tobacco was green.. Never again.

Thanks all! She's a keeper for real! A driver, not so much. Subway pass coming up for her birthday!

I know, reaching with my quick fix. Looks a little better in person, but bad I know. It's as far center as I can go with it considering the location of the burn. I had a BS, anti-theft, security system sticker on there at first, but it won't stick.

Going to search online for something better to cover it. I'm sure there are BMW badges out there to handle it properly.

I think it's time for a leather headliner off ebay. There is a couple there now pulled from M6's. Cost you a few dollars and you may need to get it installed, but would be an excellent upgrade. You could then thank her for her mistake and call it it an engagement present to yourself
