Looking at buying a 2006 330i with 100K on it. What to look for?

So I've done quite a bit of research on this year and model. I've had a 2001 330ci and a 2004 530i I ran them both over 200K so I know the engine is very reliable but I was interested in hearing from you guys what kind of problems crop up around 100K. I know with e36 and e46 that's about when you want to refresh the cooling system. Same with e90s? I know my 330ci and 530i had the same engine but did they make any changes to the 3.0 L inline 6 for the e90? Thanks so much for your help. I can't wait to get my new car.

info on the particular car I'm thinking of getting:
2006 330i blue on tan sports package, comfort access, Bluetooth, automatic, 103K miles, was a certified pre owned so it had a 100K warranty that just expired.

Mighty pretty. And modified.

Those wheels look a touch larger than stock....lowered too. Wouldn't touch it w/o extensive inspection + discount.

Wait....pic of your prospect or current ride?

Congrats on your "new" car. The E90 appears it is having significantly fewer niggling issues than the E46. The N52 3.0 liter six is all new in the E90. There is a .PDF posted here that outlines the E90 in great detail. The title escapes me at the moment. You can search threads I've made in the E9x forum and find it. I'm short on time at the moment or I'd find it for you. The N52 motor is a real gem. You're in for a treat.

There was an issue with over torqued, incompatible metals with some head bolts that resulted in broken head bolts in early production models. Be sure there are no signs of oil leakage at the head.

I have a 2006 330xi with about 75k miles. I've owned it for the past 37k miles. Luckily I haven't run into any issues. I did replace the battery and shocks - that's about it.

I just changed an oil filter housing gasket on a 2006 325i that had 170k. The car is one owner and she hasn't really had any issus aside from the water pump, valve cover, and thrust arm bushings. I wouldn't worry about 103k.

Mine has 86k and no major issues except for transmission and oil leaks (see below) that were easily fixed for several hundred.

If battery tests fine no reason to replace yet. But you may wish to do transmission fluid drain & replace as the "lifetime" fluid is now only certified to 100k.

Finally if tire are in good shape consider an alignment. Tires are expensive, alignment is good insurance against premature wear.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I did end up getting the car and I love it. Plus it sounds like these are really solid cars. Not like the 335i that can be finicky (don't get me wrong I'd love the power)

I can't wait to get it all detailed, alligned, and checked out so I can start putting money into more fun things.

Get a water pump and keep it in the trunk so when it goes you have a replacement.
Other than that I good car, do recommend replacing ALL fluids unless you know each was replaced.
As far as 335's go I have had mine since I picked it up in Munich 4/2007 and have had one part replaced under warranty, glove box solenoid so don't believe a lot of things posted about 335s. If it was a POS BMW would not still be making that engine which they are. HPFP long gone issue and turbos the same with BMW providing warranty to 10years/120K miles on the pump and 8years/82K on the turbos to include waste gate...

I like the 330's they are a great car...
