Welcome to the forum, and to the BMW community with your first BMW! You may have better success by inquiring about specific mods initially. What did you have in mind? Step-by-step!

In my opinion the car is pretty fast to be stock, but i would like to get some more hp out of it, i have been doing some research online and i have constantly seen ppl mention the jb4. Without any other upgrades to the vehicle how much additional hp will the jb4 give the car. I read about the different maps the jb4 has, i assume different maps give better performance with certain upgrades? Are there any downsides to having the jb4 in referennce to causing any problems with the car. Initially i was thinking about starting with a cold air-intake, then around spring get the jb4 and possibly new exhaust.

Ok, I wouldn't bother with CAI. Click on N54TECH

Also look into what you'll find here, badly needed in a 2009

What are you looking to do?

I'd probably go with tints first

Also, before improving engine performance, improve the engine cooling. If you want to make the car run faster, louder, etc then the first thing you want to make sure is that the engine won't overheat.

Think of it like overclocking a computer. Before you overclock your computer you want to make sure the fans inside are upgraded.

Plan ahead before doing all this stuff. Have step-by-step what you want to upgrade, in which order, and the cost. Then stick to it.

Take your time. Don't do more than one upgrade at any given point. If for some reason an upgrade causes a problem it's easier to diagnose if you only did one thing.
