All BMWs New Code: Automatic Parking Brake Release in cars with automatic transmission

In MY 2012 and newer cars the parking brake can be automatically released by just pressing the accelerator pedal. This feature was not available in MY 2010-2011 cars. It can be activated by changing the following codes below:

DSC->3000 Allgemein, 20->Funktion_AutomaticDriveawayRelease_aktiv->aktiv (nicht_aktiv is the default)

EMF->3000 Kodierdaten, 14->ADR_AKTIV->ADR_ein (ADR_Aus is the default)

(Note, any errors/or malfunctions will clear up after a complete car shutdown.)

For automatic release, operate the accelerator pedal. The LED and indicator lamp go out.

This is subject to the following requirements:
->Engine on.
->Drive/Reverse position engaged.
->Driver buckled in and doors closed.

This allows me to enjoy even more the Auto-H feature. One thing I did not like is that it engages the parking brake automatically upon shutdown. Now I do not have to worry about remembering to release the eBrake. I just drive away.

Thank you cn555ic. I have been working on this one for a while, but it was not until Sean provided me with some tools that I was able to get the second code.

I on the other hand spent most of my time sending subliminal "failure" messages to him. He's resilient, I'll give him that. He's been cutting into all the accolades I pretend I get every day . Time to kick up the psychological warfare .

Finally...I'm not sure those bananas are exactly "cheering"

Did you really have to find all these things while I was on vacation? Now I can't wait to get home to try them. Although automatic release of parking break was already working on my car, it's possible its turned on by default now on newer cars.

Weird... Mine auto releases without this hack, as long as I have my seatbelt on....it disengages the park hold.
