A very trivial item, but I note there's a connector hole in my gas cap for a missing plastic retainer cord. Has anyone had any experience replacing this item? Thanks.

cap
I had to buy the cap when the rubber tether broke.

My 1997 has a locking gas cap and a receptacle on the filler door to hold it while refueling. I see no place on the cap for a retainer cord, nor where it might attach to the car.

My Z also has the locking gas cap with a retainer clip on the inside of the gas tank door.

Gas Cap
The only OEM replacement option is to buy the cap plus the retainer for about $25. I made my own retainer out of a piece of parachute cord.

Mr BStanton, sorry to ask of topic, but what if anything did you do to your wheels? I ask because they look neat in your picture.
Thanks |

Thanks Rudyrov.. The picture is deceiving... I have dozens of chips on them... Some are quite deep.. I've actually started looking locally for a place to have them refinished. The only thing that I do to them is wash them.... And every time that I wash them I swear that I find more and more chips.
