NBA Playoffs
How bout dem Warriors? Made it clear tonight that the big lead on Monday was no fluke.
The collapse on Monday was pretty wild - ahead by 16 with 4 minutes to go and SA came back and won it in two overtimes but tonight, the Warriors also led most all the way (maybe all the way, I missed the first 10 minutes) and hung on. But dang, this team is the real deal. I had a feeling the Monta Ellis trade for Bogut was going to work. Ellis is a brilliant player but there was something missing. For starters, there's no D in Monta. SA is the big favorite but they gonna lose this one, sorry about that ya'all.

Great for the Warriors. Heck they won a playoff series to get here
I haven't been to a game since the 60s-70s but if Thompson & Curry get hot in the same game it will be rough on SA. That said, all SA has to do is split in Oakland and they will have the home court advantage.

I like Curry as well. I wish Jerry West could have a word with Curry about celebrating too soon. I see him grinning and congratulating with his team-mates way before the game's over, a la game one.
One hopes that Bogut's ankles do a Wilt Chamberlain impersonation. If the guy had an outside shot he'd be deadly but he's no dummy if not always the best at being ready for a pass. I've liked the Spurs for a long time. I'm seeing signs of age in them, sorry to say. Duncan 37, Ginobli 35, Parker 30, the latter still young. But it seems that 35 is the slow down age. Warriors a fairly young team. Lee the oldest of the main corps at 30. The roster here shows the ages and the salaries are sort of surprising. Bogut being paid 3 times as much as Curry this year: http://espn.go.com/nba/team/roster/_...state-warriors One more thing, anyone else notice how Bogut pulls moving screens and doesn't get called for it? I don't get it, looks pretty obvious to me.

I had a feeling I was a bit too optimistic when I predicted GS victory over the Spurs. May still yet do it but it will take some rapid readjustment.
Living on the 3 pointer is usually not good. Bogut: I do like the guy - agile for a big guy, but there is no reason dude cannot improve his shot. And on the moving screen thing, an announcer tonight commented that he was getting away with it. Oh well.

It's also Curry's ankle that's has been a serious problem and is the real worry now...

One announcer last night mentioned that Curry hasn't done all that well since the two overtime game one, in which he played all but, I forget, maybe 20 seconds. Jackson should perhaps have rested him a bit more. Curry is tough but not Superman. If he were to hurt the ankle again on Sunday, I'd welcome a quick exit from the series. No need to tax the ankle on a losing effort. He'd done much better this year in that regard than last, another off-season of conditioning might help. And you know they have people working with him on strengthening those suckers.
I sprained my ankles numerous times in B-Ball during my illustrious career and my left one is now chronically sorta weak. *BTW* Is it just me or is Joakim Noah sort of an ass?

Nice to see the Warriors extend the series & have Curry strap it on & make a difference.

I'll be danged. The flow of the game had me worried they were going to lose it. I was glad to see Curry play a more well rounded game. Of course if he was hitting threes, go for that but you can't live on that stuff. How about Barnes? He's new to me, I didn't watch much regular season, but he was our answer to Duncan, or close enough.
I like Bogut, but dang the guy doesn't understand what a moving screen is. I lost track of how many I saw. Amazing that he doesn't foul out more.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess - I don't think there's a sport I care less about than professional basketball.

Thank you for your valuable input!
When you see a live game up close, it's pretty wild.

Yeah, wasn't meant to be. I suspect the Spurs will trounce Memphis (in progress) and meet their match in Miami. If they do win it all, makes the Warriors look pretty good, as they spanked the Spurs the first two games, even if they did lose the first.
Jackson is a pretty good coach IMO but I think he sorta blew it in game one. They had large leads several times and yet Curry played all but 30 seconds or so of the game. Could be that he burned himself out on that one, what with 2 OTs - that was by far his best game statistically. Also, Thompson fouled out with 4 minutes left, when they had a 16 point lead. Why not give their 2nd guard a rest with 4 minutes left, 16 up, and 5 fouls? If he had rested both of them, they could have come in with a minute and a half left, that is if SA made the same run, and been fresh. Oh well, wasn't meant to be.
