Stero upgrade
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my audio system in my 2003 e53 X5.
Ideally I want a plug and play solution to replace the current headunit which is looking a little tired. I'm from the UK so if anybody knows of a shop that can help out too that would be great! |

Although I can't recommend any shops for installation, you could see this as a nice upgrade to your head unit. A bit pricey, but it's the most you can get out of your X5.
I installed it last year and it's been a good system so far. There are less expensive options, but use this as a guide to eliminate what options you don't want/need in a head unit. http://www.dynavin.com/products/product_dnv_e39.php

Lovely, this helps a lot? Did you install yourself?

Yep, did the install with the wife. I think it's a bit pricey for what it is, but overall it's not a bad unit. I choose it because it looked real close to oem. It even has the matching orange dash light color. I have factory navigation screen and no dsp, so the upgrade to this cost me roughly $300 because I was able to sell the factory screen and GPS unit and cd changer in the back for around $600 total.
