6 fl & cd changer connected simultaneously

Hi. I have a 2008 535i with 6fl aux port. I currently have a flash drive connected, & playing in my car. I recently got an unbelievable find of the compatible 6 disc changer. I have the cd changer prep, which is the connector & bracket. My question is can you have both 6fl, & the changer operate in Idrive? I searched threads on here, but it mostly concerns an aux retrofit that states the retrofit uses the cd changer selection on the Idrive. My scenario is somewhat different. I want to take advantage of both mediums for music. I know that there is coding involved, but I don't want to lose my 6fl option with that coding.
Thanks in advance for your input.
