12W LED Angel Eye Bulbs
I just got my new angel eye bulbs in the mail today. They came with an intricate wire setup. I plugged it up the way that I thought it should go but it just looks weird to me. There's 2 oval metal pieces that hang and there is no way that you can put the cap back on. Is this right?

They were $70 tho. I skipped over the $20 & $30 ones. Kinda thought I was purchasing in the middle ... not cheap but not expensive either.

12W LEDs?????
 I played around with 5Watt LED's and those were hard to keep working properly as they went into thermal runaway and eventually died. LED's generate a ton of heat and it needs to be cooled properly. Once they go past their operating temperature (I think somewhere around 180F) they start failing and their life drops off exponentially. IMO I'd be careful with these.

Those are decent lights. The little resistor box is to make sure there are no dash errors popping up.
don't buy high wattage lights that have plastic heat sinks...which are comical if u think about it.

they are 4 (3w) smd LEDs on each "bulb" better to get blubs with single 5 or 6 watt led.... brighter...

MTEC angel eyes are much brighter and they dont require any heatsink

Thanx, fellas ... but I'm stuck with them for now. I hear a knocking sound coming from front left wheel when I go over uneven terrain or bumps. I'm pretty sure that's gonna eat the budget.

Finally! Someone with a facelift E65 whose fitted LEDs!
So rideme2 tell us all about it; how much did you pay for your MTECs? Did you take the bumper off? How easy was it to do? Any drawbacks, eg heat output, flickering, warning messages etc... Sorry for the rapid fire but every single post I've read on here is about the pre-facelift cars which is totally different. Cheers!

OK - I have Adaptive Bi-Xenons and I've heard just disconnecting the headlights (which I'm sure you have to do to fit the new LEDs) can cause errors and even failure of the Adaptive headlights. Do you have these fitted, and have you had any problems?
