Clear Coat EYE SORES
its like every time it rains, i lose more clearcoat.. typically around the trunk area/tops or rear quarter panels, a spot or so on the doors, front hood and fenders still perfect.. and mine is a 99 model.. i have to get the whole thing sanded and repainted now? grrr.. is this normal?

Some colors are worse than others, and some environments are harsher on paints & finishes than others. Generally speaking, although it does happen with some regularity, I wouldn't call it normal.
No way to fix clear coat though. Just has to be removed in reapplied. Regularly washing and waxing helps protect the clear coat.

I was having the same with my 95, but wasn't surprised. I got about half of it off (all of the hood, trunk lid and 'shoulders' from front to rear) by just spending time with the stream setting on my hose noozle. I am going to borrow my neighbor's pressure washer to see if I can finish it. I really don't want to sand since then I will have to repaint...and my paint is good.
