What to use to patch coolant leak

Ok guys so I have a head gasket leak on the back corner off the head and the coolant is dripping onto the manifold and its burning off the manifold and I can smell it through the vents (so I usually just use recycling function) but a head gasket replacement is really not in the budget right now and I'm loosing a good amount of coolant (about half the resivor is gone every time I good trough a tank of gas). I'm just looking for something I can put on there to plug it up. I have no oil contamination at all just that one point.

Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I don't think any one will be able to recommend any thing with a clear conscience.
I'm sorry, but your engine is running on borrowed time and treating the symptoms will just let you stop thinking about it until it finally goes to shyt.
A gaskets set, head bolts, and RTV silicone will set you back about $180, a torque wrench will be an other $30, save up, borrow it, beg mom and dad, just get the stuff and do it your self.

1. You have no oil contamination yet.
2. If you think you can't afford to replace a head gasket, have you considered the cost to replace the engine?
3. There are no miracle cures or stop leaks or patches that will be beneficial to your car in any way shape or form.
4. I am not mindlessly trying to discourage you, just to point out the hard truth.
5. Are you CERTAIN that it is the head gasket and not the heater core hoses? They can be replaced (cheap) or bypassed. (You will lose heat that way).
6. Running your car low on coolant will result in over heating and a blown head gasket if that hasn't occurred already and WILL cause catastrophic damage to your engine.

Agree with Miles 1000%. Plus whenever the temporary patch fails it could cause even more problems than a head gasket replacement. Think $250 and a weekend gone vs. the cost of a new engine and the time to install that.

I tried a sealant on an engine that was going to be dead anyway. First of all, it didn't work....at all. Second, read the thread I made on it: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho....php?p=7240832

Very.

I owe you guys big time. Oh and thanks for the tips last night, I found the current draw. I'd have probably blown up my meter otherwise.

Oh shuddup, my last text was before 11. If you were sleeping by then you need a life.

Then again, if you're watching Ancient Aliens you still need a life, so the point remains.

Truth is I have the flu, and I was bundled up on the couch. Remote was across the room. At least it wasn't on Lifetime or anything.

It might just be a stomach virus. I won't go into details, but I try to stay within 20 minutes and 100feet of a bathroom at all times...

And yes, I love thread-jacking! Sorry, OP!
