help please, 528ix stereo question

I have a 2012 528IX with no navigation, so i have the 7'' screen, and standard stereo.
My first question is that if you have the Nav(bigger screen) you automatically get a better stereo and dvd capability, or no nav cars can also play DVD as well?

I was wondering if i can do DVDinmotion, or is there anything that i can install to watch videos through my ipod?

No, you do not automatically get the upgraded stereo.

Not sure about the DVD.

I have the same standard stereo and it does not have DVD capability.The DVD capability comes with Nav.

1. No upgraded audio with Nav -it will be the same, standard, 12-speaker system installed in your car right now.

2. There is no DVD player in that iDrive unit; it is just a Professional Radio with an external display.

so even you have a navigation, that does not mean that you can play DVD?

The iDrive Navigation unit (CIC) is completely different internally from the iDrive Professional Radio (CHAMP-2).

The CIC has a DVD player. The CHAMP-2 unit (yours) does not; it has a CD player.
