Tire thoughts

fronts have 50k and are shot, rears were replaced early last year.

Options are:

Replace run flat fronts with factory tires for $750 or spend more and get 4 non run flast summer performance tires:

Toyos at $1,150

Continentals at $1,290

or Michelin at $1,590

I would go for the 4 non-runflat option for sure. My fav tires best to less-best with TireRack prices:

Is there any value in the used rear tires? One has 80% tread left and the other 70%

You can probably sell them for slightly less than 50% of what you paid for them, maybe more if they are actually at 80%.

+1 I was in the same boat. Had one tire that developed a bubble on the inner wall on the rear that would have cost me about $500 to replace. I got rid of all 4 and the difference is night and day compare to the RFT's. I was a bit hesitant because of the advantage I see with the RFT but I decided to do what countless memebrs have done because of the value. I figured the M6 didnot come with it so why bother. I now have the M6 repair kit just in case a flat occurs. I went with the conti Extreme DW. Nice handling tires.

I have the M Mobility kit as well. Will likely go conti/Toyo and sell old tires on ebay

I don't know where you live but I usually replace my tires at about 50% thread and sell them on Craigslist in San Francisco. I don't ask for a lot (200 to 300 depending on the car they cane from), but they are usually gone in a day. I feel better having good tread for rainy days plus the noise level tends to increase as tires wear down so I don't mind splurging for fresh rubber much before I get down to the wear bars.

I am running continentals....love it!

Drove my 2013 6er coupe straight from the dealership to my Tire shop; switched the RFT's and rims to Michelin Pilots Super Sports. Went from 18"s to 19". Loving the smooth ride, without the worry of having to buy a $500 tire; everytime there is a puncture with the Run Flats.

I am told that I should get better mileage also because my continentals were lighter than the RF.....I never check to confirm.

Don't hesitate about going NRF's it's the right move.

I have Hankook V12's but they are very soft, and you feel everything on the road with them. Very good tire and an excellent price but not sure I would buy them again.

I have a friend with an M6 and Hancook V12s and he feels the same way. I would go with Yorgi's list.
