BMW 328i Steering Wheel a bit tight...

Just a quick question, do BMW's have tighter steering wheels compared to other cars? I drove an Accord, Camry, Rav 4, Prius, Lexus GX 460 an Insight(current car) but my 2011 328i xDrive's steering just seems to be a lot tighter compared to my Insight or the Prius. I don't know whether BMWs are like that or if there is anything I can do to loosen it up a bit.....

Any input?

Yes, its normal. Its not "tight", your previous japanese cars just had loose steering feel. You cannot do anything about it.

Normal and you will get used to it. When I go back to other cars they feel too light now.

Get an F30, the light, lifeless steering will not disappoint. Ask BoltJames if you don't believe me!

As the others have said, it's normal. After switching from a Honda myself, I thought the steering was a bit heavy. Once you drive it for a couple of days you'll get used to it and won't be used to the light steering you once had!

+1 when I drive my old maxima it feels like the steering wheel is going to fly out of my hand.

I miss the steering heft of the E90, however I don't dislike the F30. It's accurate, just not quite as confidence inspiring.

I don't know how toyota did it, but the Scion FR-S (and I assume also the Subaru BR-Z) have amazing steering feel... and not just "good for an EPS system", but seriously good by all measures. Go try one just for giggles if you haven't already. Even with a clutch that somebody destroyed prior to 600mi, the one i test drove was way too much fun to toss around.
