6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Newbie - 630i few niggly issues
Hi,
I have recently bought a Black automatic 2007 630i convertible and I love it apart from a couple of issues / questions: Every now and then i get a total drop in power when accelerating ! this seems to be in 2nd gear and when I am not driving the car "hard", lasts between 0.5 and 3 seconds. After reading the posts on here about the transition issues I will try the transmission reset but I fear that this is a different issue. The car does not stall and there are no error lights on the dash or service log in the iDrive. It has only covered 37k miles and has been serviced by main dealers. I would like to update the iDrive software as this might help with the above and have read on here that this is recommended - is this main dealer only? I would like to replace the stock 6 series mirrors with M6 mirrors but they are on eBay for £550 - anyone know where to get some aftermarket mirrors? iPod Classic integration, is this best done with main dealer (£400 fitted) or should I attempt myself (pretty good at ICE installs but never on a BMW) I have quite a bit of road noise from the passenger side of the car and it seems to get better if I open and close the rear 1/4 window but not great. Is there a way to "reset" the windows or could this be a lid seal/join? Sorry for the long list, thoughts/help really appreciated ![]() Cheers Paul |

If the transmission reset does not work it would not hurt to have a software update. Dealer only unless you have a specialist BMW shop in your area with a subscription to BMW's ISSS (ISTA/P) program which will allow them to update software.
Don't know of any M6 mirror sources off hand. I would try eBay and the breakers. The iPod cable is plug and play if you have a CD changer installed in the glovebox. Here is a DIY thread. The rear window might need adjusting or it could be a problem with the seal. You will need a dealer to look at that one.

Thanks Yorgi.
I completed the transmission reset and this did make the car a lot smoother and so far, no cutting out - will see how that goes....... Sounds like a stupid question but what does / do you get with the software updates? No CD changer so this is probably going to mean main dealer and they can look at the window at the same time.
