Need help please!

Hey guys/gals. New to the forums as I just bought an 87 325is. So far I love this car! Just having a major issue with it and not sure where to start. The issue is the engine is cutting out during normal driving. From what I researched on my own everything points to fuel. The car has had most of it replaced.
New:
Fuel tank
Fuel pumps
Fuel filter
Fuel relays
Ecu
Also has new:
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Coil

When it's happens while I'm driving there's a green light that kind of flashes/fades while its happening.. Not sure what this light is. Hopefully I've described this issue well enough someone can pinpoint the issue.. Thanks everyone!

Definitely sounds electrical. Start with easy checks like battery, fuses, and alternator.

Check your idle air control vale, that may be gummed up or broken causing your shaky idle. Also check your throttle body and make sure that's free of any gunk. Not sure about the fuel smell if your entire fuel system has been replaced. I'm sure you already inspected your entire fuel path. Are there any leaks? Any fluids on the ground?

havent got enough data to look at video, but is normal to smell like fuel if the engine is missing. if you charge up the battery on an exernal charger and then put it in the car, is the car fine for the first 20-30 minutes of driving?

Throttle body is good, idle air valve is good, I now have oil on the ground but I found I have a leaky hose going to the oil cooler (is that stock on these?) battery has good power. My check engine light comes on as its happening (just found out that's the green light)

The cps (crank position sensor) is near the crank pointing diagonally up towards the passenger side of the engine bay. Its a cylinder shaped sensor.

Testing procedure:
-Disconnect the pulse sensor connector (next to the oil dipstick, there are two connectors. It is the one somewhat behind the dipstick tube)
-check resistance between terminal 1 (yellow wire) and terminal 2 (black wire) on the sensor side of the connector.
-if reading is not approximately 540+/- 40 then the sensor is faulty.

I can't find my cps. Does one need to take all the plug cables off to find the cps?

No. It's directly below the distributor, pointed at the toothed wheel on the crankshaft. Secured with a 5mm socket head capscrew.

how are you making out on this?

I am wondering because mine is doing a similar thing. as my econometer goes to max, then slowly comes back down, it acts wildly, the revs are also not as spastic as yours, however, they are bouncy.

Check and clean ECU plugs and earths. What does battery voltage test at, running and loaded? Ckeck power supply wires to vehicle loom. Do the lights (park and head) flicker when the engine plays up like this?
