Went with Autopom for an extended warranty, uploaded contract

I Went with the Autopom extended warranty. My 2009 650I warranty with 6,500 miles was up on 2/28/13 and I needed a warranty to be safe. After reading many posts about warranty's I made up my mind. 84 months, 100,000 miles bumper to bumper platinum with the electronic package, 0 deductible for $2,468. They also offered 0% financing for 18 months with 10% down payment. I uploaded the 10 page final contract which was mailed to me, if anyone wants to compare them with anybody else. If anybody else want's to upload there own extended warranty contract to help other members, please post.

I did exactly that when I got my car. One of the things that I liked about their policy is that it was an exclusion contract. That means that they give you a list of what they do not cover. If it's not on the list, it's covered.

I have only used it once at the dealership and there was no problem at all.

I'm happy with them and would recommend them.

I would like to buy from them too, how's the process is like? How soon can you start using it? Can they drop you? Can someone provide the list of what's not covered? How reliable are they?

I went to there website and entered my information, and was given an instant quote. The waiting period is 30 days and 1,000 before you can use it. Do a search on the forum and you will read what people think about them. Also I uploaded there contract which was mailed to me and it has the list what is covered and what is not covered.

Its's a crapshoot, some people say put the money you will spend in a bank for when your car needs a repair or other people say the extended warranty has saved them from an expensive repair. Do a search in the 6 series forum there are many threads about warranties.

Thanks for posting this, I always like to peruse contracts. They have some interesting coverage areas that are beneficial:

Towing and key lockout (up to $75 and $35)
Rental Car reimbursement (on a schedule, but amounts to $30/day)
Tire Road Hazard ($150 per incident, $500 contract life limit)
Trip interrruption reimbursement (100 miles from house, $75/day, $225 max per incident)
Consequential coverage (if selected, a non-covered part fails because of a covered part failure, $2000 contract life limit)

Like Roseng says, it is much easier to deal with the Exclusion list than the other way around. Autopom looks like the best option for all that I have seen!

I'll throw in my recent experience. It is definitely worth it, but there are some things you should know based on my experience. I have pretty much the same coverage as OP for a 2008 650, 100k mile warranty.

First, my HVAC went to crap. That entire thing was replaced fully covered by warranty, work done at Beverly Hills BMW.

Next, I have a noise coming from my suspension, which the dealer claims that the steering rack was failing (I don't believe this one bit)...but whatever. So the dealer contacts Mercury to tell them that the steering rack needs to be replaced....Mercury wanted to supply an aftermarket steering rack, which costs $600. Genuine OEM costs like $1300....so if I wanted the genuine part, I would have to fork out $700 on top of the deductible, which is $100. So $800.

So just beware of this, if there is a cheaper aftermarket OEM part available, Mercury will only cover the amount of that part. I did not know this. They will cover all labor charges for any repair, which is fantastic. There was no aftermarket replacement for the HVAC, so Mercury had to cover all the costs, which was serious $$$.

Anyone know if these OEM type aftermarket parts are any good? Are they Chinese knockoff crap? Like the ones you find on ebay? Still debating.

It seems like AutoPOM is a reputable aftermarket warranty company.

Easy choice. If ur still eligible for BMW rxtended go BMW, if not AutoPom is the best hassle free aftermarket extended warranty I lnow so far. If I still wanna keep my 6 after 100,000 miles, I definitely go with AutoPom.

It is such an individual decision! There are those who never have problems and those that do. It all depends on how well you can handle a possible big repair.

On 2/27/13 I took my 09 650I to the dealer for the battery recall, passenger seat belt keep going off when no one was in the seat and my iPhone 5 would take 2 1/2 rings before my Idrive will let me know there is a call.

For the seat they had to replace the seat occupancy sensor which bmw doesn't make the sensor by itself. So the dealer had to put a new leather seat bottom cushion for with labor just under $800.

The phone ringing the dealer said the CCC aka navigation was bad and replace it with a new one for just under $3,000. The phone wasn't really a big problem, I mention it hoping they would just update the software and to my surprise they replace my CCC.

With all of the repairs, maintenance, and tax the total was just under $4,400. My 650I was still under BMW new car warranty with 1 day left on it and they picked up the bill. So I'm happy with my extended warranty even though I didn't use it yet.

I was looking at the BMW warranty but their warranties start from the first in service date. So my in service date is 2/28/09, bmw new car warranty ended on 2/28/13. If I went with the BMW extended 7 year warranty it would end
on 2/28/16 or 100,000 miles. My best price for the BMW platinum 7 years 100,000 miles was $4,250.

So with the Autopom my warranty ends on 2/28/20 or 100,000 miles. Will I get my money out of my extended warranty time will tell. Even though I have only 6,500 miles on 09 650I, I plan on keeping my bmw for at least 3 years.

Wow, mine 2009 650i, in service date 06/30/2009, I went with BMW extended 6 years or 100,000 miles. So 06/30/2015 for me. However I have 70,000 miles on the odometer right now. Still shining.

I intentionally bought a car that had CPO. I purchased mine with 1 year of factory warranty still on the clock and then the CPO added 2 years more. The 100k mileage did not matter since that was not going to happen!

I paid a bit more for my car because of the CPO, but thankfully I did. In the 3 years of coverage (1 year factory and 2 years of CPO) I had over $5,000 in repairs. Not to mention the dealer visit where they give me a free loaner with no limits...and free roadside. I used Roadside twice, I probably had a loaner car for 2 months during that period. I had one instance where they had my car for 2 weeks while diagnosing and then awaiting a part.

My CPO ended in November of last year so I am completely uncovered. I am hoping all the bad stuff has been replaced while under warranty/cpo. We will see...but if I have a repair I will pay it, no complaints. But I will use an independent.

I don't know if anyone experience the same. Every time I visit a dealer to fix anything. They tend to claim that they replace my water pump leak. Already happened 3 times. I don't know why water pump can easily break/leak. I just wonder when my warranty is over, will that water pump issue will cause any damage to the driving experience or the dealer just bluff.

I wish BMW cover more mileage. The year is not matter to me, I'm traveler.
