Fog light automatically turns on when turning signal on

Hello everyone,

I got my 2007 X3 back from a shop yesterday. I noticed that if light switch set to Auto, when turning signal on or when you make a turn without turning signal, the fog light (on the same side) automatically turns on. I don't remember seeing it before. Does anyone know it is a defect or feature?

Yep, that is normal. It is called cornering lights. If you have adaptive steering, they also activate independently if you turn the steering wheel either left or right.

Totally normal. They will also illuminate when you are in reverse.
