Smile Radio loses stations and CD player wont play or eject

The title speaks for itself. I have a 525D 2006 saloon.
I have a problem and wonder if anyone knows how to solve it or even what the cause of the problem is.
The fault started with the radio losing stations occasionally along with the clock and trip etc going back to 12:00 and 0miles etc.
It has now progressed to the radio never saving stations after being switched off, and the CD will occasionally read the CD that is in it but wont eject it ever.
I suspected the CD player and priced one up......the cost is 1342.00p..........!!!
Has anyone come across this same problem or has any ideas how to sort it?

You have the classic symptoms of a battery with a low charge. How old is your battery? If over four years, probably time to replace. If newer, make sure it has a full charge (not just a drive around the block), and I'd be willing to bet your problems will disappear.
