Can Paintless dent repair fix this?

My wife's car (not the E90 thank god).

She was leaving a parking ramp when the exit gate malfunctioned and the arm came crashing down skidding across the roof and trunk lid.
I'd prefer not to repaint half the car to fix this. The dents are between the size of a dime and a quarter.

Do you guys think a paintless dent repair guy could fix this?

They are pretty easy dents to fix, only issue will be if they can get behind them - near edges are tough and they will probably need to pull the head liner down and take off a bunch of interior trim to get at it, if they can get to them though, they are pretty nice easy dents to actually fix.

May not need to pull the headliner. There are some PDRs who use some type of glue to 'pull' small dents. OP should talk to a few PDR companies. If the first one says they can't, don't be dissuaded.

if not you should check your insurance Comprehensive, thats the part of insurance that covers not auto bang ups. like hail, hitting deer, falling limbs and falling arms, did you talk to the place you were parked? you should try to make them pay first, My 2007 335 Hard top convertable was hit by a Person, like a body playing football in the parking lot at the last panthers game, the dent guy couldnt get to the back of the pannel and now the car is at the body shop and the repair is 1200 dollars, my comprehensive is going to cover it and my deductible is only 50 dollars and and my rates wont go up, all should check their deductable on comprehensive, to go to 50 bucks wont increase you premium anything

Definitely do it! I've had it done (not on the E90, Amen) and I was impressed with the results.

PDR is amazing and the guys that do it are magicians at a fraction of the cost...They'll find a way without removing the head liner.

I agree with the above posters. If you Google PDR for examples, you'd be amazed at what they can fix!

Email the same photos to various PDR folks in your area for quotes, of course let them know what model and year it is, and inquire about the technique they will use. The veterans know all of the cars and their idiosyncrasies (BMW often changing little things with how side panels are installed, or the types of bracing underneath the hood of various cars, stuff like that). A lot of PDR pros come to your place too. You're somewhat fortunate that the dings are easily seen in the pics, because dings are notoriously difficult to capture on camera.

I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect that a PDR just behind my door increased whatever level of creak/rattle I had in the rear, as rear seat cushion and rear side panel (one big piece with seat belt extender and motor visible) had to be removed (that or drilling into the door jamb I suppose). I would try some Gummi or Krytox wherever it seems like a good place to apply the stuff in the surrounding area afterward, just for good measure.

They will polish the affected area, but you can try to improve on their work like I did if you're into that stuff. The guy who did mine told me the artistry of a PDR is with finessing the orange peel matching after the dent has essentially been flattened out.

A good PDR guy can definitely remove dents from the roof without pulling the headliner. I had my hail damaged 2011 E92 repaired last spring with the stipulation that there would be no interior disassembly, which included not removing the headliner, and no holes were to be drilled in the doors or jambs. I disassembled the interior panels in the trunk myself before I dropped off the car. They (he) repaired all the dents (roof, hood, trunk, rear quarters, doors - everything except the front fenders, which are plastic) perfectly. The roof and doors (and possibly the rear quarters were done with what he called a "dent pull" - essentially where he glued a pin to pull the dent above the surrounding sheet metal, then used traditional PDR massaging to work the dent back to the surrounding level from the outside. Total cost of the repairs were about $3500, not including the detail work afterwards. Insurance picked up the cost, less the deductible. If your PDR guy can't do a dent pull, go someplace else and find someone who can.

My first thought, I would take it to 2-3 highend body shops and send them the bill of the middle priced one.

Try PDR after that, if not keep the check and live with the dent or get it fixed

Ya gotta be careful in a car.

Have a teenager who, moving smartly, was cut off on the local hwy. She steered to the right, causing her to go off the road.

She quickly headed for a small hill to stop the car.

An educational moment occurred when 3000 lb moving @ 70 mph didn't stop that easily....after a brief zero-G experience, the vehicle touched down on one wheel, initiating a rotational vector.

At least 10 flips later, all came to rest, wheels up; 4 speechless kiddos hangin' - thankfully - by their seat belts.

Bumps, bruises, yet another Dent Doctor customer was the result. Like I said - ya gotta be careful in a car.
