Suggestions for a new clutch.
I have a 03 525i need to replace the clutch release bearing but I figured I just replaced the whole thing. I'm not sure if I should stay stock or go stage 1, if so what brand to use for performance and longevity while still being reasonable affordable.

You're kidding, right? With a 2.5 liter engine, you need a killer clutch? Go OEM, and make sure the clutch delay valve is removed.
Ask your mechanic if you should replace the flywheel.

Can you enlighten me as to how removing the clutch delay valve would make a "killer clutch"?

Haha this is great, Edjack is saying that you do not need a performance clutch on a car that doesn't exceed 200 horsepower. Now if you had a 540 and were doing big performance mods then a "stage 1" clutch would be acceptable. As Edjack said, stay OEM. And removing the clutch delay valve doesn't make it killer, it removes the slippage and jerkyness the CDV causes.

I typed /CDV F3 in the bestlinks for the OP to come up with this:
- CDV delete by removing the manual transmission clutch delay valve or by modifying it (1) (2) (3) (4)
