hid headlight issues

ive got moisture in my driverside headlight light, not sure where the leak is. The adaptive lighting has now gone bad, sweet, not, like 1500- to replace. was wondering what is involved to just going to halogen/ projector as i can get both headlights new for way less than one. help. this is on a 2008 e90 sedan.

First fix the seal.

Second, you can replace the AHL module which fails due to water damage from leaking housings.

It's called an SMC II module.

You can find used module off eBay for around $100. If you get a module from the same side of your car and from a LHD model, it will be plug and play. If not, you may need coding. Coding shouldn't be more than $100 but should be much less. The module just needs to be defaulted. It does not need to be flashed/programmed.

Look in the coding section or the regional section of bmwcoding.com for local coders.

You have to code the car.

You need LCI halogens.

PRE-LCI halogens do not have angel eyes.

If just the module is bad, replacing headlights is a much more expensive route and you will be downgrading the lighting

my concern is that i cannot figure where the moisture is getting in and the lens continues to fog up heavily. that said im wondering what my options are. I dont want to get the module and have the same thing happen. BTW your ride is sick, BRAVO
