Get this and you can pretty much connect any bluetooth enabled cell phone to the car:

Unfortunately not. It's the only option. Most of us have it in order to connect our cell phones.

Will this adapter support any blue tooth enabled phone and what functions does it support on the phone (or is it "just a phone")?

Thanks for your reply

I have the BTUM module in my car, and if im not mistaken it should work with most any phone that has bluetooth. For example my Iphone 5 works perfectly with the BTUM module, Im able to use the built in key pad to dial out, steering wheel button will pick up and disconnect calls, and within the communication portion of idrive it pulls all of my contacts from my iphone and allows me to scroll through them using idrive, click on them and make calls. I hope this helps answer your question, its well worth spending the money on in my opinion! Oh and my 745 is a '03.
