Items missing on X3
I purchased my X3 off the dealers lot. They brought the car in from another dealer. In the rear compartment on the drivers side I believe there is supposed to be a first aid kit and a tool kit.
There is no first aid kit. The tool kit looks to have spaces for 4 tools, only 2 are there. what do the rest of you guys have? |

I have the same as you do. Unfortunately this is mentioned in the owners manual but it seems to be very regional. I believe they get the first aid kit in Europe but we don't get in in the US.

You can get the first aid kit in walmart for 10 bucks.

Normal. All we get in the toolkit is the screwdriver and the two hook

Or, he can order it from the Parts Department for $70 (I think, but it gets a cool BMW logo).

Yes, the screwdriver and tow hook are all that are in the US toolkit.

Do you guys get wheel locks standard? We get them in Canada.. so the wheel lock key should be back there as well.

I noticed the same thing for my 2011 328i Xdrive. I went into the dealer and asked him about it. He told me that's all you get, then showed me the tool kits of a few floor models. What a ripoff. In Germany, you have to have a first aid kit and triangle. I will look in my X3 and see what I have, since I am driving a US spec model in Germany. I will let you know. Cheers!

My dealer told me that the triangles were "illegal" here and BMW didn't want to get into liability issues with the first aid kit. All crap of course, the wife's A4 Audi came with both the triangles and first aid kit, as did the daughter's XC90 Volvo! They don't include them to save pennies.
The "tool kit" is a joke as well. A far cry from the beautifully polished full kit mounted in the trunk lid of my old 7 series. A beautiful kit, complete with hand cleaner packets and a nicely folded work rag. Very well done. We get now a plastic box with two bargain barrel "tools".

In another thread here, someone said they got cup holder liners (for change) included. I didn't get that. Is that a stardard? should I go back to the dealer and ask?
One really small picky thing that caught me is the floor mats. My old 3-series had BMW written on at least the driver mat and a raised cushion so the heel of your foot doesn't wear out the mat quickly. These mats don't have any of that. Looks very cheap. |

I agree. I'll probably replace them with the "good" ones.
