Navigation Update Question
I've read the various threads on updating to the new 2013 navigation database, but I have a question that I can't find addressed anywhere.
I have an FSC code from when I updated to the 2012 database. Will that same FSC code still work to unlock the 2013 database, or do I need to get a new FSC code? You may ask why update in just one year from 2012 to 2013. The 2012 database sucks - many errors. I'd like to see if the new 2013 database corrects many of the errors, but I'm not willing to pay almost $400 to a dealer for a download or $245 to TomTom to find out. I'd be willing to pay roughly $40 (from the local dealer) for the USB thumbdrive, but I'm not willing to pay another $200 for a new FSC code. In some of the posted threads, there are suggestions how to get a new FSC code for roughly $50. I have not pursued that avenue yet and may not if I have to pay a total of about $100 ($40 for thumbdrive and $50 for new FSC code) only to find out the new 2013 database isn't any better than the 2012 version. Thanks very much for any response or suggestions. |

Each new map update requires new FSC.

Thanks for your reply - sorry to hear it, but I'm not surprised.

Can't really blame that on BMW.
