New Oil dip stick part #

Ok, I bought the cold weather CCV kit. Now I'm going through the details of the job. RealOEM.com has two part numbers for the dip stick tube for my car. Some people online even have other part #'s for it.

11431433496 - Ended

11437531258 - Current # on RealOEM.com for my car

11437565437 - What others have posted as the new part #

I want to upgrade to the newer oil dip stick tube, but which # is correct/newer? And when removing the throttle body, do I need a new gasket? I looked it up, it's like a orange round deal. I haven't seen much talk about if this TB gasket needs replaced or can be reused.

The last one: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/11437565437/ES24265/
But buy it from www.thebmwpartstore.com and save on shipping.
Don't forget the new O-ring too.

I did not replace the TB gasket when I replaced my CCV at around 70K and experienced no issues. Since it seals against air leaks instead of liquids, as long as it looks good, it should be fine.

Thanks guys. What about any other grommets, or knick knacks that will need to be replaced? I have to have everything ready to go. Cannot have my car down. Yes I'm planning on getting a new O-ring with the new dip stick tube.

I'm going through 1qt of oil every 4,000 miles. Seems excessive. Granted, I have about 2 or 3 oil leaks on the engine and have not done the CCV. So hopefully I can get these last few items done and do it right once.

1 qt of oil every 4K is not excessive, especially if you have a leak. If your CCV is failing, replacing it should help to reduce oil consumption.

^Good deal. I have like 2 or 3 leaks!

I didn't see any grommets or any other small items you replaced in your write up. Am I correct? I checked out realoem.com to see if there any other small items and did not see any. So Re-use the TB gasket, all new ccv hoses, new ccu unit, updated oil dip stick tube. Should be it right? At worst I need a new small vacuum line which I can get locally in a hurry. I don't want o get into this and be like DOH!!!

That should do it. Do not forget to label everything you disassemble (makes reassembly much easier) and be gentle when removing the rubber intake boots between the MAF and the throttle housing intake. These will crack if manhandled.

jason5- I got the cold weather kit from Jordan @ eBMW. But I am still missing the dip stick tube & O-ring and I think those additional 2 hoses... I'll check tonight. Excellent pics. After looking at your write up I'm questioning about replacing the o-rings on the air distributiion deal you have to pull off. all those small o-rings. re-use? Replace?? I think that is last items I would need. What did you do?

If you have the money, just buy a NEW distribution piece.
I think is it ~$50.
If, not, then I would replace the small O-rings.
I did not replace the O-rings, because I plan I replacing the Air Distribution Piece very soon.
I will probably put a new one on the car when I install an Oil Catch Can, and Exhaust Scavenge setup, and cap the Intake to prevent any of that crap getting back into the car...

Thanks!
Jason

what does that thing do??

Well I ordered the dip stick tube, O-ring and 6x O-rings for the plenum gimick. I think that should conclude my CCV parts buying. Now to sit down with the Bentley manual and try and get all my bolt torque specs ahead of time. Nothing more annoying than flipping through pages looking for a torque spec when you're in the heat of the battle.
