rate my lease deal

2013 550xi Msport.

~6% under sticker.

63% residual and .0013 MF

Dealer gave me 17,750 for the 2007 335i (right in the middle of wholesale and retail).

I think they gave me a really fair price on the trade which caused me to the pull the trigger.

Oh: they threw in all weather mats which as you know aways seals the deal!!!

I would objectively rate this deal an 8.5 out of 10.

If you're happy with it, then that's what counts. Let' see, your effective annual interest rate is 3.12% and your residual is 63%. What's the term?

Assuming its a 36 month lease with regular mileage and no other hidden costs, 63% is high (good) from your perspective.

36 months

I feel like it was a fair deal which in my experience is the definition of a good deal.

Sometimes I get jealous of my friends who don't care about these things as much as I do, but such is life.

At 36 months assuming no other costs and 12k allowance per year, it's a good deal at 63% residual.

What can we rate exactly? 63% is the standard residual for 10k miles - same goes for MF. Is it that you got 6% off?

This is more in line with what I thought ...around 57-58% as a residual.maybe up to 60% for 10k miles.

So does everyone get the same deal? That would be nice.

It looks good at 6% off and 63% residual and at slightly under US prime - I'd take it.

I had 1991 red c4. Way too young and stupid to appreciate it at the time. I bought it for the nookie.

Yes - residuals are standard. Everybody would get the exact same one you got. Dealers can markup MF a few more points. You got no markup on your MF so you got the base rate, Anything the dealer made was on the price sold plus any fees he may have charged you. What I don't get is - if getting the best deal is so important - shouldn't you have known what kind of deal you were getting before buying?

Everybody's deal is different - some people don't mind paying a bit more for good service/value so as long as you are happy you got a good deal.

That is old - residual for January 2013 seems to be 60/62/63 for 15/12/10k miles.

His residual is quite good if you ask me. When you can get 63% for 3 years on most cars I think you are doing quite well.

I never claimed that getting the best deal was so important. I'm not lucky enough or smart enough to ever get the best deal on anything.

Again, residual is set by BMW FS - anybody walking off the street to a dealer will get the same.

Just picked up a 2013 550 a few days ago with generally the same structure. Your selling price may be a tad higher but I think you made it back in a good trade value. Hindsight 20/20, enjoy the ride

We got our 550 at invoice. You got a great residual at 63%. Remember there is no such thing as the perfect deal, there will always be variables among dealerships, states and timing. But your deal is a good one.

i am in NJ and since you are very near (Brooklyn,NY), we are in the same demography. I think you should get close to 9-10% off MSRP for 550's. Given i don't have Msport, but can't pay extra 5% just for that. Try to find a delar who is more willing to work. I know Greg Poland just posted a thread on fire sale.
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=672507

see if he can do something, i know he is on west coast, but he might help you out to get in touch with a delar in east coast to work with you.

this is what i just got 2 weeks ago.
2013 BMW 550ix
Black Sapphire Metallic
Black Dakota Leather
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Package
Executive Package

MSRP $72,245
Purchase price $65,336 (built the car on Edmunds and TMV per my zip is $69,469 and Invoice is $67,245)
Resv 63% (10K miles)
MF .00130(after 7MSD it is .00081)

Monthly Payment = 689 (including 7% NJ taxes)

luxury tax $261.35 (.4% on purchase price)
DMV $ 304.50
tire tax $6
Bank Fee $725
DOC fee $299
1st month $689

Total drive of $2284.85
+ $4900 for 7MSD (Which i get back at the end of lease term)

without the 7msd my payment would have been close to $750 with taxes. so i saved about $60/month or $2160 for the lease term.

Residuals at 63% are very good. I say, BMW's for all.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy your beautiful car like crazy. Sometimes I think many of us messageboard nerds (Guilty!?) lose the forrest for the trees by overly obsessing over the money side of the equation. It's like some sick twisted game. 500 bucks or even 5000 ain't changing my life one way or the other. Grateful for that...

Sometimes I wonder if people get in over their heads with these cars if they're so worried about 500 bucks? Or maybe they're just the type of annoying people ( mostly guys ) who need to "win" all the time.

You obviously negotiated a slamming deal. But, I don't think I'm that far off from you because of my trade. Even though my 335i was mint, they're not easy to sell privately. Lots of low ballers and pikers.

I rated my deal an 8.5. I'll rate your deal a 9.0. Most likely, you wouldn't kick either one out of bed if you don't mind the mixed metaphor...

Enjoy your car!
