Beeps and firing up

I own a 1989 325i and was needing some advice on a couple of things. Recently my car has been making 3 short electronic beeps. It usually happens about once a car ride. It's not the chime sound you get when you haven't put your seatbelt on. Any ideas what it is?

Secondly, once in a while my car has trouble starting and will just keep trying to turn over. I put my foot on the accelerator and floor it and then it starts up every time. Took it to the garage, they ran some tests to see if a problem with fuel transmission etc but everything is fine and they are stumped as to what the problem is. anybody know what the problem might be?

same car never heard a beep lol..try giving it a tune up n see where u get with that

I'll bet the three beeps just happen to occur about 10 seconds before the hour, don't they? (Press the "Memo" button on your OBC to cancel the hour chimes).

Everything is NOT "fine" if the engine doesn't fire up in a few spins. If you have to hold the throttle wide open for it to start, it's flooding. You either have a leaking injector or the cold start injector is flooding the engine. If your mechanic couldn't figure that out, you need a better mechanic.
