Recently purchased my first E46, here she is before.

and after

Let me know what you think. Every time I drive about 200 - 500 miles the oil light comes on, some times its yellow other times its red, I'm assuming red means the oil is severely depleted. Also I have that same issue that I just read about the recall for the tail lamps, bulbs just burn out every 2 months or so. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Red means something very different. Download your car's owner's manual here:

Don't have a good PDF reader but I have the physical manual so I'll check it out, I thought it was due to an oil leak, when I looked under the car it definitely showed signs of an oil leak that's why I assumed it would mean that. I'm going to spend some time with the car today and do a tune up / other minor maintenance. What I'd like to do is stop pouring oil every 200-500 miles and clean up the bottom end as to where there are no leaks. So if you guys know of any common problems I would love to know. Thanks!

Do you know a pdf reader is a free download?

Oil leak comes from VCG, or OFHG or less likely oil pan gasket. Burning oil is worn oil rings, or valve stem seals.

Or your CVV system is shot and needs to be replaced.
