Saw it in person at the Detroit show, comes off better in the flesh than it does in pics.

Looks nice there. But.....it looks like they've decided the "new market" they're planning to capture is the Lexus ES market.

I see a few design cues from the F30, but the interior of the Q looks more complete.

Game on BMW 4 series...

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...-revealed.html

Now, they just need to add a 3.0 twin turbo with proper handling\dynamics!! But, you know you like that interior!!

It a concept car I will make a judgement when the real thing comes out. I do not have high hopes since the Q50 feels like a G37 on novacane

Yup, actually have. I will never drive another Infiniti. Unless it's free. Or it starts to drive like a Bimmer. Or Bimmer ceases to exist. I have had two Infiniti's. I loved them to pieces until I drove my 335i.

Does your Q50 have the DAS? I'm guessing yes and that it is a hybrid, right?

Oh, and I'm not a dude.

Had a G37 and couldn't wait to give it back. Replaced it with something more gas efficient -- a Tahoe.

Its a shame what they did to the G37. What a great car for the money that was.

They should keep the G37 and make the Q50 a separate model for people who want a bigger, bloated, more advanced car.

They actually did keep the G37 around, haha. As for the Q being more advanced, half the gadgets in my car didn't work properly and the system didn't work with iOS yet.

They are kind of doing that. The 2015 Q40 is the G37...

Figures they announce it right around the time I turn in my G37 coupe.

Infiniti messed up when they changed to from 5 to 7 speed transmissions. The transmission sucks. There is a 160 page forum discussion on an Infiniti message board discussing this.

The 2011 G37 I couldn't wait to turn in.
It had awful turbo lag, the car would hesitate when changing lanes, RPM's would shoot up out nowhere and the car would feel like I put it in neutral sometimes as well. I had to get it reprogramed several times, Infiniti knew about it, car still drove like ass. It was a gas guzzler, Same 18 gallon tank would net me 330 miles on my 08, the 11 got me 290-300.

The 2008 G37, with the 5 speed automatic was really really fun to drive. So was the 2004 G35. I loved both of those cars, Infiniti messed up when they changed all the cars to 7 speed. The car got lost its driving spirit and is the biggest reason why I decided on a BMW.

Saying all this I do wish they came out earlier with the coupe. Its only been 8 years since the last refresh. lol It does look great according to the concept pics, and I do believe it will look very similar to that.

I hear ya RNNY. I just turned in my '13 G37 coupe, and it was def slow off the line and its mileage was pretty terrible unless I was doing a long road trip. Then again, my daily routine is terrible for any car (~3 miles each way) so gas mileage during the week is always terrible.

I am enjoying the 3 very much, but I know the mileage won't be much better because of all the short trip driving. At least it is more enjoyable...

The Infiniti G37 is not a turbo but a normally aspirated engine. I drive a g37 when I go to Florida and don't mind the gearbox.
As for the q50 infiniti messed up for a couple of reasons.
1 the Q naming system is stupid and confusing.
2 the vq engine needs to be change to a smoother and more efficient engine
3 the exterior is nice but the interior is too generic looking. Also the double screen infotainment system is annoying.
4 according to consumer reports the q50 is the least reliable car in its class with an infotainment system that has a 20% failure rate.

Totally agree with point 1 above. I like to think I'm a car guy and pretty knowledgeable on the various makes/models available, but Infiniti have me stumped with all the different Q models.

I actually liked my interior. And I would have really like the infotainment system had it worked! Lol. Having my car totaled out ended up being a blessing in disguise.

And there was lag in both my G37 and Q50. Being the "Maria Andretti" that I am, I step on it all the time. Both these cars would hesitate and then "smack", my head would hit the headrest hahaha.

Oh and I averaged about 17mpg gallon in both of these. I'll be interested to see what I get in my new car.

Infiniti has the worse transmission currently in the segment. My previous car was a 2012 G37, they have reprogrammed the Q50 transmission but it still sucks based on my extensive test drive and loaner car experience.
