How have you posted this in at least two different forums and not given any sort of reasoning behind it? It is probably valid but your exact problem would help others more than saying they suck basically.

Dude, if you're going to act like a baby and complain, the least you can do is give a detailed story of what happened. Most people are very happy w Umnitza.

What part? What sales talk? What did you try to do about it other than bitch like a girl on here with no details?

Who did you talk to? what did you receive?
Who tried the install?

All questions, we'd love to know the answer to AND we will help you in any way we can.

I called to get a better light bulb for my fogs and was upsold to an HID which salesman said was plug and play. He also said instructions would come with. Absolutely great salesmanship. Like talking to a pro car stealearship. Part came and zero instructions so called them up. Was given a link and was advised to REMOVE HEADLIGHTS! So I did which was a pain to do on my car. Finnally got to the fogs, and found out they sent me the wrong size bulb. Was sent an H8 instead of an H4. Called them up and asked for a 55w ballast replacement along with the correct H4 size bulb since they sent me a 35w ballast and the stock bulb is a 55w. I offered to pay the difference, they refused. So I asked for a full refund. They refused and was told they will send a replacement bulb and should have it in 2 days perfect for the weekend. I put my car back together which was a pain and took all night. Cleared my weekend to do this again. Keep requesting a refund and they would just reply back as it was shipped. Package was scanned as received on the weekend and came on Tuesday. They even blame the shippers yet they used their ticket to prove that it just arrived. You know the type. In the real world we call it unreliable.

Mr Cattani - When you say most people are very happy w Umnitza, do you have actual data to back this up or just juvenile assumptions such as your choice of words?

General comments - not specific to your situation, but addressing your comments nonetheless.

1) E60 headlights are very easy to remove - usually no more than 10 minutes with basic tools, though an extending magnet helps. It is not necessary to remove them to install HID fogs (far superior to halogen fogs). Usually it's easiest to reach through the underbody paneling with the car either on a ramp or jack.

2) E60s come with H8 and 9006 (you were probably trying to say HB4 not H4). Depending on the year of your car. 2008-2010 all come with H8 bulbs unless they are a performance package car. Since over 85% of 2008-2010 cars are non performance package cars, it's safe to assume that you would have an H8. Of course this depends on what you ordered and what information you have at the time of purchase related to your car.

3) 55W Halogen bulbs are not the same as 55W Xenon bulbs. Requesting a 55W HID is more expensive than the 35W HID and doesn't necessarily buy you a significant amount more light output. Additionally, 35W ballasts are far more reliable at preventing light error messages than the 55W counterparts on E60s. If we refuse to sell you a 55W ballast it's not because we're trying to make you unhappy, quite the opposite. And if we do "hard sales" like a pro car stealer, then why would we refuse to sell you a higher priced product. We don't sell that way. We sell based on solutions that we know work.

4) USPS shipping characteristics are very "strange" during this month as they go from one style of shipping to another - they have actually hired a lot of contractors that do their shipping and are using less in-house union works. It's led to some strange shipments going on. We've had shipments take 3 weeks to get from our location to LA for a headlight package that was Priority Mail, a 2 week shipment to HI that left our Oakland CPU never having been scanned into the system but somehow made it's way to LAX 1 week later instead of HI, and some other inconsistencies. If we tell you that an item has shipped, we cannot offer a refund until that item has been either returned to us or delviered to you and you return it to us.
---

The comments above attempt to address your concerns rather indirectly as we do not specifically have confirmation of your name/order number.

However, I'd like to encourage you to continue to work with us if you have any issues at all - info@umnitza.com - we are happy to listen or if you want, you can call and speak to matt the owner about your concerns.

Yes, actual experience. If you would have posted more information from the start, I would not have treated you like a child throwing a tantrum (which is exactly what you did).

As I suspect. Your actual experience does not count as MOST PEOPLE. Next time use your words wisely.

Umnitza - In response to your comments - I have asked a full refund several times and was not granted. I requested to get the 55w ballast kit and was refused because you said some customers ran away with the replacement kit instead of mailing it back. I said I will pay for the difference and was told a full cost needs to be charged to my card and the returned kit be refunded to my card 14 DAYS after you get the kit back which in my opinion is unacceptable. I was not told about the light error messages until now. Again too late. Regardless.. I am done with Umnitza and will no longer respond to you.

I likewise ordered a set of HID replacement fog bulbs as one had burned out. Went to Umnitza since they had sold me the fog light kit as part of a bumper upgrade over a year ago.
Umnitza sent me the wrong bulbs even though the order showed the correct type of bulb, the 9006. After a bunch of emails back and forth and photos showing my old bulb type and the kind they had shipped to me I just ran out of patience and ordered another on ebay.
It seemed faster and easier to simply order elsewhere.
The fog bulbs were $20 plus $8 and change for shipping. Not worth wasting time on. It wasn't clear whether they would offer a refund, send me the correct bulbs, or take any action to remedy the situation. I was asked to send them back and pay for the shipping charges, didn't seem worth the time and effort.
The new bulb I found was $10 including shipping and now I have learned exactly what type of fog light set-up I have and how to replace bulbs.
If anyone needs a 35W H7 bulb I have a spare I was going to toss out otherwise.

Couldn't pass it up for the price I got even though it's not as fast/powerful as a 540 or m5, used as a commuter anyways. Just happy everything worked out for me in the end + am now a part of this whole bimmer family!! NOW I understand and never want to drive anything else as many of you already know that feeling lol. So enough of my background story and onto my first time experience with Umnitza.

If you're lucky enough to live in the nor cal bay area then this is definitely your first stop(possibly your last) for anything you need. You can order off their website umnitza.com and they allow local pickups if you wanna save on shipping. From lighting, to body kits, to rims, as long as you're looking for quality parts, this is where you can find it. Even if you're not from around here, everything is listed and updated so it can be shipped pretty much anywhere. Sure you might be able to find it cheaper on ebay or wherever, but why risk quality when you know for sure you're getting the better stuff, WITH reasonable prices at that!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here advertising for them nor am I getting anything for this but compared to other shops I've been to in the past, these guys treat their customers right. Of course I've heard stories from others their experiences with this shop didn't always go as smoothly as mine did, but you have to keep in mind, you're customer # whatever out of 100 they may have for that day. Matt and their crew get calls NON STOP all day long. I was there for 15 minutes and the phone was ringing off the hook the whole time!! He might not have time to chat with you but as long as you have a little patience, he will hook you up as he did for me. If you don't get through by phone(which can happen), you'll eventually get a response if you send in an email.

So to Matt, just want to say thanks for all your help! I am definitely a satisfied customer + have many plans to come back in the future for anything. I also must say Jesse your painter(painting is done at a separate location) did a great job painting/installing my M5 bumper!!(Even if you live across the country an order online, he can match your car as long as its a stock factory color). My car is 12 years old yet he managed to match the color beautifully. Unless you look through a magnifying glass, the match is perfect considering he didn't even see the car beforehand. I could see he had other projects going on around his shop but he still offered to take the time, stop what he was doing and stay late to install it for me which was greatly appreciated. Not too many shops care for their customers like that and even if they did, would only be after one thing- your wallet. Not the case w Jesse at all, definitely had honest and reasonable prices and could tell he cares about customers cars looking right!! I knew fitment wouldn't be perfect since I got the cheaper bumper(better one is +$100) but he made it work and it looks flawless.

For guys like me who love these cars, want to make em look proper but might not have top dollars to easily drop on em like how other folks do, both of you guys make it possible for us to enjoy the scene as well!! Thanks again

-Cee

ps. Im a new member so I cant post results, but pm me for pics. Sorry for the novel, thanks for reading if you made it down this far lol
