Need help to narrow my search down on a 3 series

Glad to be here amongst bimmer lovers. I need help I'm looking for a 3 series that fun to drive with horse power and is ready for add ons. Rather it be the engine or body. I love how BMW handle the response. Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. I'm leaning towards 07 and up. Also any tips on after market parts for the car will help too. I hope to be able to narrow down m choice for a luxury sporty sleek bimmer I can flat black out and zoom around San Diego in.

Some pieces of information that will help:
1) Budget on buying car
2) Budget on mods
3) Options that you want (sports, premium, cold weather, nav, etc)
4) Engine size (328, 335, 335is, ///M)

You must didn't read my post, I stated I lived in San Diego, ca. I stated I'm interested in a fast car with luxury and sportiness. With the platform for after market add ons for the engine and car. No budget really, hey I'm not in the range of buying of m5.

Go 335 if you want power
The suspension in these cars is far from perfect but can be upgraded too. M3 bits bolt on these cars.
