Center Console Mistake

Hey All,

I picked up a 2013 Powder Ride Edition X1 - great car except the center console seemed to have been left unfinished.

I have the cradle for the 6NR snap-in cradle adapter, but instead of a cradle being there, it is just the empty plastic shell. The plastic shell just takes up space, and there is no wiring in place.

Is there anyway to have the plastic shell removed, or the 6NR cradle installed?

My parent's F30 was delivered in this manner. I believe you have to purchase the snap-in connector for your smartphone and have it installed. They purchased BMW apps and the iPhone 4/4s adapter but never use it.

I have the same thing in mine, took it to the dealer and asked if they would remove it because it is just in the way. I can access my phone thru bluetooth so don't need the adaptor. Dealer did not want to remove as it entailed taking apart the center console. I wouldn't mind it so much if it clipped to the top and moved out of the way when I opened it. I think I am going to add a velcro fastener.
