There seem to be 2 different designs.
When I went to my dealer in person, they physically showed me this type: http://www.oembimmerparts.com/produc...FQJx4AodTxQA-Q If you type in the part number in realoem.com, it shows up as legit. Then there is this type: http://www.new-part.com/product/bmw-...FcqY4Aod1A0Atg If you type in the part number in realoem.com, it also shows up as legit. This one, is what this guy used here. |

Nevermind, I think the charcoal filters are accessed from the hood, while the paper one is from inside the car.
So there are 3 cabin filters. I think. Maybe. |

Correct. First set go under the hood and the second one goes under the glove box.

I looked under the hood. Seems freaking complicated on the X5.

It is compared to most BMWs, but shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to do. I can't remember exactly how I did it, but if you get stuck I'm happy to take a look at mine to remind myself how I did it.

On my prior '06 750Li it was SO simple and literally took me under 2 minutes to do BOTH.
