Miami cold snap causing rattling sound.

We're having a massive 2 day cold snap.

The temperature was 54 degrees F when I left my house this morning (emergency homeless shelters are opening up too)!

While driving, I noticed a consistent rattling sound coming from the area of the A/C dashboard vent located between the driver and the door.

Any ideas on how to tighten this out?

We've had a cold spell here in SoCal also. It was 32 degrees when I left the house a few days ago. Brrrrrrrrrrr.

About the rattle, when you put your hand on the vent, does the noise go away?

I tried that and it does not go away. It also occurs intermittently mainly on rougher pavement. After reading some other threads, I'm thinking the noise is coming from the two little buttons on the upper left stalk.

Not to me. I love the cold for a short while. I was just trying to rub it in for those snowed in, though the rattle is very real.

I used to own another E60 that also rattled a lot, looked like it was coming from the drivers side A/C vent or somewhere there . . . never discovered what was the issue, the rattle used to be really noisy when driving in rough roads (I'm talking about not "smooth" roads). It was really annoying, specially when not playing music.
I always thought it was the A/C vent having loose parts inside. Who knows.

i have the same rattle on the passenger side and sometimes it sounds like crackling coming from the upper corner of the windshield.... have not been able to figure out the source
