What are these top three defroster wires on the rear window?
They are surely not to defrost or defog anything, unless mine are broken.
Was driving through some mountain mist this morning. All lower defrost lines were working once activated and window cleared quite well, but the foggy portion on top just sat there.
On somewhat related matter, after a few extended night trips, I did notice that light from the car behind scatters off the defroster lines creating noticeable vertical glare reflections. I don't remember this being a problem in my E90/E46/32/23. Do I have a defective rear window? Looking closely from inside out I can see that defrost wires are silverish while they are orange from the outside. The orange can be an epoxy, or could be some coating that (in my case) is missing on the inside. If (I speculate) the coating was meant to be not just insulating but also anti reflective, the absence would explain the glare.
Has anyone seen this? With just a month to play I am still learning the beast. Discovered auto ventilation timer today.
