E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Well, I did it

One lesson learned - never take your wife to negotiate with you, she wanted one they had at the dealer so the options were limited to what they had.

I had zeroed in on the 128i, not only because of price, I wanted that non turbo inline six.

Deep sea blue - the color we both loved. So many in the area are gray or white, and she didn't want that. Taupe leatherette, which we had decided (surprisingly) we liked when we first saw it, I didn't expect to.

No sport package... grrrr but I maybe happy in the long run with the daily commute. Tech package and moonroof which I think I would later have missed so I am happy with the trade-off. Wish I had the sport seats though, but these are power and heated.

24 miles on it now, six were from my test drive and 10 were from my drive home.

But really.... I quibble on details. I adore this car, just driving it. That 6 is so smooth and effortless, and it handles so well. I have had so many used junks in the past, and my only new cars were an 88 Hyundai Excel (laugh if you will but I got 12 completely problem free years, and 170k miles out of that thing) and an 06 Civic which I liked a lot and my son will now drive, but this is in another class.

I went lease, I guess I am that time in my life where I don't want to deal with repair issues later in life, and I can either buy in 3 years or look at another BMW because the beemer bug has bitten me.

I totally love this car. I have read some complaints about the styling but when that is what sold me originally, I actually love the looks.

Congrats! I was thinking about the 128i, about to sign and then decided to take my wife to the dealership to see what I was thinking about buying....and walked out with a 135i. Go figure.

DOn't think you can go wrong with either car...hope you and your wife enjoy the new vehicle tremendously
