best "factory" integrated alarm?

I need an alarm asap. Something with remote start & paging(I am on the 4th floor in an apartment).

Does BMW offer a factory type alarm system for these cars? If not what has anyone had installed with NO hacking of the wiring. Would really like to use the original key fobs if at all possible.

Even if it just an add on to the factory keyless. Remote start is not very important, so it is on the bottom of the list as necessary.

Your 2001 740 came with an alarm system with keyless entry, power locks, and has a transponder key system. The features you're wanting were never offered during the production of our vehicles. Therefore a skilled installer will have to adapt the car's wiring to install a new alarm system with features such as remove start (transponder bypass with park/neutral sensing) and paging. Most likely they will bypass the factory system and integrate the old features into the new alarm system. although plug and play, not even the alarm systems offered on Bavauto has the features you're wanting. desired features = wiring compromise.

You will need a REALLY good tech or you are likely to introduce any number of faults into the system. Be careful.

I realized how good the factory system is. I will leave it alone for now.

Just trying to find datalogger cable. I found one that plugs into the 20 pin socket, but it has to come from England....whhaaa.
