Replacing and registering new battery...

Hello Everyone!

Lately I've been having problems with my 2003 BMW 745Li. All kinds of warnings popping up from, "Parking Brake Malfunction" to. "Fluid Loss In Steering or Hydraulic System" to, "Vehicle Detects Increased Body Roll in Curves" and then the latest was, "No Transmission Display. Poss. Reduction of Gear Selection, etc."

Anyways, I'm hoping all this will be fixed after replacing my battery. Last time I replaced the battery was over 6 years ago under warranty. So my question is since reading all the new battery and registering post, where can I download the software to register the battery, and what cables do I need to buy and where? I heard on ebay is where I can buy the cable, but if I can get the item number to the exact cable on ebay, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to all that can help me out.

Ok thanks. I'm still having trouble finding the software to download. I did see this on ebay and was wondering if this is all I need to register the battery. Here's the link:

I think INPA is the key. Your link says it comes with it. I bought this one to get it:

But it just came in the mail and I haven't had the time to install it

By the way, I'm not sure if this is a record, but I bought my 02 in 2005 just as it came off of a 3 year lease (36K miles), and I just started to get airbag and seat tensioner faults just a few months ago. Took it took my local BMW tech (3D Autoworks in Hudson NH - not the dealer) to get it fixed and Dan said "this is the original battery!!!" Of course low voltage faults all over the place. So I got 10 years out of the stock battery and couldn't be more pleased considering all of the battery related issues I've seen on the forum. Sitting at 182,000 miles now and going strong .

Thanks for the link Pedro. I'm gonna order the same one you gave me. The link that I gave isn't for an E65/E66. The dealer wants $120 to register the battery and $80 to reset my airbag lights that came on when I forgot to unplug the battery when I took the front door panel off. Let me know if it's easy to use when you get a chance to play around with the software.
