What do you listen to when...

If any of you guys are like me, you like to listen to music while working on your Bimmer or driving it. I have found that I listen to different styles depending on what I am doing...setting the mood, if you will. I'm curious what everybody is listening to so I'll start it off with what I've been listening to lately...

In the garage:
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall
Steve Winwood: Back In the High Life, Roll With It
Sting: Ten Summoner's Tales
Chicago: Night & Day (a modern take on some big band classics)

On the road:
Commuting: Almost anything will do as long as it's not rap or country
Spirited driving:
Dream Theater: Any of their albums will do nicely.
Queensryche: Empire, Promised Land
Yes: 90125
Tool: Various stuff I've plucked off their albums...
Korn: Same as Tool.

My favorite song for fast driving is “I Can’t Drive 55” by Sammy Hagar.

The six albums in my CD changer right now are “Uno”, “Dos”, “Tre” and “American Idiot” by Green Day; “The Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall’ by Pink Floyd.

Then in my trunk there is
“Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables”, “In God We Trust, Inc.”, “Plastic Surgery Disaster”, “Frankenchrist” and “Bedtime for Democracy” by Dead Kennedys.
“Dookie”, “21st Century Breakdown” and “Warning” by Green Day.
“Who’s Next” and “Who Are You” by The Who.

No, it was more a tongue-in-cheek comment on aged technology. Viva la mp3.

tend to like jason mraz, jack johnson, u2, phil collins, sting, duran duran, and a lot of local musicians.

then there's the standard classical playlists and arias i listen to.

i'm such a musical dork, i know....

I listen to literally everything. The only staple bands are Shinedown and Halestorm. Lately it's been Swedish House Mafia, Pink, Gaslight Anthem, Incubus and Adelitas Way.

She has good taste already!

I think we need to change this up a little and say the most embarrassing thing you listen to in your car. I'll start...

Guilty pleasure is Kid Rock, Cowboy.
Unmanliest is Norah Jones. Go ahead and make fun of me!

Kid rock is not a guilty pleasure.

I do enjoy playing "call me maybe" quite loud when I have friends with me

Good news, I'm not up on what's cool anymore. My wife is my source for Kid Rock being uncool. Now I get to tell her I am in fact ...cool.

On the track: the engine and my instructor.

On the road: the engine.

In the garage: random radio.

mostly punk rock and harder stuff.

Alkaline Trio
Bad Religion
Darkest Hour
Black Dahlia Murder

Though sometimes I listen to some more progressive music like:
Death Cab For Cutie
Bayside
Brand New

and my "guilty pleasure" would be Van Halen's greatest hits.

Radio in the shop stays on WRKH, "The Rocket", 96.1 FM

Favorite 'driving song': "I'm In Love With My Car" by Queen.
