How many have "no problems" with their 7 (or thereabouts)?

So many people on here have horror stories to share with their ownership of these cars, I wind up wondering so much about the provenance of said cars. Did I just get lucky with mine? Am I one of some lucky few? Or, is it just a case of us never hearing threads from people, how their car didn't give them any fits?

My heart goes out to all who've had a rough time with 7 ownership, but I am left wondering. . .

All of my other cars had huge aftermarket systems, so I put a beating on my L7 till it gave up.

Other than that...no (fingers crossed) issues

My 2007 has been great. No significant issues at all and runs great.

I didn't say ANY problems....I said "significant" problems.

Bought my 750 on November 2011 , so far all it needed was one front park sensor that went bad $100 + , and a new coolant fan $250 ! Both parts easy enough to install . Car is rock solid and it gets checked by my local dealer every 6k miles as I go for an oil change . I have to say that I am very happy with it , but time to upgrade to a 09 up .

Scheduled to have the Mechatronics sleeve/valve & transmission pan and gasket replaced next week on my '07. $700 - $800. Other than that, no issues.

For me my 06 has only needed rear brakes and I thought I had the dreaded coolant leak, but turned out to be washer fluid. Haven't put much cash into it. I have small problems but nothing mechanical or worth fixing.

my 750 has been great, way less issues than the 745's.

I've had mine since Novembers.

I had an o2 sensor go bad (covered under CPO)

Had a DMTL pump go bad (covered under CPO)

ABS Sensor (Tech broke fixing the DMTL pump, so fixed for free)

Other than that....great

Anyway, my car has def. had some issues, but I've done the work myself, and I get the parts at wholesale prices so it's not be bad.. I enjoy doing the work, and the satisfaction of solving the problem.

No crazy problems so far at 61,000 miles

Latest service included the transmission service (mechatronics sleeve replaced under CPO so the oil change was $117) and replacing the water pump

Two Comfort Access door handles replaced at 50K miles under CPO

Like ive said before the 750 is a better car, the elctronice were massivly upgraded. My cpo 745 was in the dealer at least 1x a month.

I agree I was eskeptical about keeping mine but is the 745 's with all the BS issues . Happy with it so far specially once I found out I have CA lol , never knew I had it

Zero people have had no problems with their 7, or their 5 or their Honda, or their.....

Unless of course you just bought it or you define a "problem" as a "nuisance"

I have had no major issues with mine beside normal tune ups & oil changes & a leaking
valve cover , & when I had that repaired I
decided to do both sides & timing cover
Gaskets also . However I do try to do
preventive maintenance , such as I had all
my coolant hose's changed when there was
no leaks or problems . I do oil changes every
3k to 5k . Only other issue I had was with
my tpms sensors for the tires . Also had
to replace my LMA but that was my fault
entirely for coding it on a low battery .

Now the e66 I bought for my ex-fiancee has had
a few problems . Her Power module ,
integrated power supply , Navi unit , L7 amp
, ask unit , Trunk shocks , hood shocks ,
& Cpo covered a new Tranny . Im sure there
are a few other things on her car I forgot
to mention , but can't think of them right
now .

No major issues in 4 years of ownership. Normal maintenance based on the computer except for oil which I do every 7k. Replaced my CD changer and repaired my Logic 7 amp that is starting to act up again. No other issue and I drive it every day.

This is an interesting thread. I am debating right now on upgrading from my 97 540 to a 06 750Li. I have read so many forums and consumer reports of people having electrical and tranny issues. I have actually been considering an AUDI!?!? Anybody out there that has had both?

I say you buy my 7 so I can upgrade to the F01 and you'll be as happy as a baby when given candy LOL and I'm serious .

My previous 2003 745i was fine, about 110k miles on it and everything worked as expected. No logic7 to go wrong and the transmission was fine.

My new 2002 (late 02) one is not so much the same.
Gearbox failed when I got it (only 92k miles with full bmw history), and it looks like there may be some minor issues with the engine to sort before it drives perfectly again.
Also the Active Cruise doesn't work, requiring a new lens.

every thread turns into a " This is whats wrong with my car...."

Thats the nature of a car forum but this board does complain a bit too much and seems like no one enjoys their car....yet they still own it for sum reason.

2013 off to a good start. coil 3 needed replacing, leaking coolant hose and gaskets again a year later. $2000 charged to warranty.
