ix or xi

Probably a dumb question but is ix or xi if you have X drive after series number?

I believe that the correct designation is ix.

Actually, a couple of years ago, BMW separated "xDrive" from the previous "xi" designation in the AWD model numbers. So now, even AWD models are simply known as "i" plus the xDrive moniker. For example, previously a 5-series with AWD was "535xi". Now it is simply "535i", like the non-AWD models, plus the "xDrive" badge on the front fender. And, unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe BMW ever used "ix" in model designations. See the attached brochure front page as an example...
