Bmw oil help

My oil is about to run out and idk which kind the dealership had put in there . I pretty sure it was castrol but i dont want to put oil without knowing what kind it was. Or does it matter

I will ask them on monday , but can i just put a 5w30 oil there? Without ruining the car?

Yes, a quart of 5W-30 Synthetic will be fine.

Oil is at minimum whenbi checked on the dashboard computer. So ur saying any synthetic 5w30 castrol oil is good?

Yes, a quart of 5w - 30 synthetic Castrol is ok, 0 - 40 Mobil 1 would work also.

Erm, do you have an owner's manual? If not, they are on line on bmwusa.com here in the states.

Yea i do have the manual, i was just making sure that it wont hurt the car if i put a castrol synthetic 5w30 without knowing what brand or kind of oil they put in .but thanks for the answer. Ill go get oil tomorrow and put some in the car

yes you can top up with full synthetic 5W30
