2012 x5 35d tailgate issues

Anyone have problems with their tailgate going up and down?


Our 2009 x5 3.0i was in at least 5 times for tailgate issues. My dealership looks at me like I am crazy. Finally on the 6th time it would close when you pushed the tailgate button on the tailgate.

With our 2012 x5, when I open the tailgate to load, I push the button on the tailgate to close it, while the other doors remained locked, the tailgate starts to close, then pops back up. This keeps happening until I unlock the other car doors.

I can't believe I am having tailgate issues again....Anyone else have these problems?

Do you have comfort access and if so, is the second key fob in the trunk by any chance? If it is, the tailgate will pop back up when you try to close it so that you don't lock yourself out of the car...

Also if the bottom "tail gate" isn't fully seated it will also fail to shut.

Mine does that all the time. If I lock the car with the lid open, then close the lid...it always pops back up with a couple chirps to boot. I just live with it.
